This project was inspired by a hat created by Australian designer Monirath. As Knight curated the work, she sought to ensure that whoever wore the hat would bring depth to its structure and design. Her connection to the models chosen stemmed from her own relationship with her hair, adding a personal layer to the project’s meaning.

This is an audio file that my friend Ethan sent me in 2021, just for fun. I was heavily inspired by James Baldwin’s words and the piano truly moved me. I decided to take the last of this audio as the tone and mood heighten, to match the tine and mood of the film.
